The CAS was established in 1983 as a private forum where individuals could meet to exchange information and ideas pertaining to the hobby of high-end audio. Membership is open to all with interests under this general area.

Meetings are held year round on a bi-monthly basis. Locations include retail establishments, manufacturing plants, and recording studios. The most common meeting location is in private homes. Most meetings are located geographically South of Hartford and West of Mystic, CT.
